Our business is built on the hard work and commitment of our people. We’re creating a workplace where everyone feels engaged, has room to grow, and can access the support they need to do their best work.
We’re a family business and we want everyone who works at Coach House to feel part of the family. We’re proud to say that our average length of service is over 10 years. We offer a comprehensive wellbeing package including access to several Employee Assistance Programmes that cover medical and mental health support - which employees’ children can also access, staff discounts, pension contributions, a regular calendar of social events, and additional annual leave entitlement for those who have worked with us for more than 5 years.
In September we launched our internal team newsletter, sharing updates about the business and our people with our team. We also had our first Lunch and Learn in December, hearing about the amazing work the team at Maundy Relief are doing in our local community. We’re excited to continue with our calendar of lunch and learns in 2026 to learn together.
Recognising the contributions of our team we relaunched our Bright Ideas programme this year – offering an award for the best suggestion for improvement each quarter. 11.9% of our team have taken part in the programme so far, showing a real appetite for putting ideas forward and improving how we do things at Coach House.
We’ve always believed in giving back to the places and people around us. As we shape our approach to community support, we’re focusing on building meaningful partnerships and creating opportunities for our team to get involved in local projects that make a difference. In 2025 we donated product and provided financial support to the value of £17,464 to charity. We’ve focused our community efforts on three charities that feel closely aligned to who we are and what we care about as a business.
Supports women and families escaping domestic abuse and homelessness, helping them rebuild their lives by turning empty properties into safe, fully furnished homes. We’re donating products worth £5,000 each year, with additional pieces provided whenever they’re needed.
Closer to home, we’ve begun supporting Maundy Relief in Lancashire, an organisation offering practical, emotional and social support to people facing hardship in our local community. Our commitment includes £5,000 annual worth of donations and product contributions and ongoing employee fundraising.
Our relationship with Bal Basera began in 2018 and has become one of the most meaningful parts of our community work. Based in Rajasthan, the charity provides a safe home for HIV-positive children, offering education, medical support and the chance to learn, play and grow with confidence. Many of the 85 children have lost their parents and faced social stigma and limited access to education, but the team at Bal Basera gives them the stability and dignity they deserve.
For years the charity struggled to secure a permanent home due to local misconceptions about HIV. With the help of donors, they were finally able to purchase land and build a purpose-built residence and medical centre. We were proud to contribute £20,000 towards the construction in 2021, and in 2019 Claudia raised a further £6,000 by swimming the length of Windermere.
When we visited the new site in November, we saw the impact first-hand. Surrounded by greenery, it gives the children space to play and access to improved facilities.
Alongside supporting the construction, we’ve committed to helping two young women, Bhavna and Kiran, continue their education after leaving the home at 18. Both achieved excellent exam results and secured places at a nearby university, and we now cover their accommodation costs.
We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with Bal Basera and supporting their work as their needs evolve. In FY26 we’ve pledged to donate £1,400 to continue supporting their work.
A safe, healthy environment is the foundation of any good workplace. We’re committed to protecting our team’s wellbeing, keeping health and safety standards high and making sure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.
Over the years we’ve seen real improvements in how we manage health and safety. With better reporting and analysis, clearer processes and honest conversations, accident rates have dropped significantly. We now keep an eye on metrics including near misses, lost time and manual handling issues so we can spot patterns early and step in where needed.
We hold quarterly Health & Safety meetings with managers across the business, making sure everyone stays aligned and that any issues are picked up quickly. Alongside this, we provide regular training so our team have the right knowledge and skills to carry out their jobs safely and with confidence.
One of our strengths is that people at Coach House genuinely look out for one another. Strong values, long-standing relationships and a real sense of family mean everyone plays their part, which is something we’re proud of.
